Update
Please note that the deadline for submission of your images has been extended to Wednesday the 8th Of Feburay 2012 .
The BPS in conjunction with Queens Park Gallery is planning an exhibition to be scheduled for April 2012. The curator for the exhibition will be Mrs. Janice Whittle and the theme chosen is “Life Now” which is described as follows:
- An artist view of his/her world’s “conditions” (environmental, social, political, philosophical, spiritual etc.).
- The view could be global in perspective or introspective (“my little world”)
- It is picturing something “NOW” that dramatically engages and hopefully stimulates an emotional response.
- Holding up a mirror to our country our environment and our society to show your interpretation of what LIFE is NOW.

The Barbados Photographic Society (BPS) is run entirely by members who volunteer their time in various capacities to assist the Society in its aims and objectives of fostering of the art and craft of photography as well as the encouragement of the appreciation and enjoyment of photography.
These members, who donate their time and expertise, serve either on various committees or in their individual capacity for the collective good of the BPS. Due to their dedicated efforts the BPS continues to grow from strength to strength. Below is a run-down of the various committees please consider how you may assist by lending your talents of the effort.

Please state your name, residence
Dr. Raymond Patrick Maughan (MB.BS, DGO. AB. LL) is my name and I live in Frere Pilgrim, Christ Church.
What Style of photography do you prefer (Landscape, Portrait, Weddings, Abstract etc),
I do not limit myself to any one area of photography nor to any particular style. We hear from time to time that we should develop a style which is uniquely ours, my response to that is that my style is that of excellence. I thrive to be the best that I can be whenever I take a picture. I believe that to limit ourselves to any one aspect or style of photography is to do ourselves a disservice. There are some photographers who “create” a picture by placing different objects in one area to achieve a preconceived effect, however I believe that the good Lord does not need any help and if we look around us we will be reassured that He has already created everything that we need in our plain sight. This is not to belittle those who prefer to “choreograph” their image either pre or post ex♦posure for that is their own gift.
